    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Clinical Coordinator.

    In this role, the successful candidate The Physician Assistant Service is dedicated to providing quality, professional, cost-effective health care to all patients at LICH.
    At LICH, physician assistants (PA) practice medicine under the supervision of a licensed physician fulfilling a broad range of medical services that would otherwise be provided by the physician. The PA shall be permitted to provide any service within his/her scope of training/skills delegated by the supervising physician or the patients physician that has been approved by the Credentials Committee and is within the scope of practice of the physician. PAs provide care for in- and outpatients primarily in-house including, the Emergency Department, Pre-Admission Testing, the operating room, Employee Health, Psych Care, including pediatrics.

    Job Responsibilities:

      1. **Assessment and Reassessment of Patients**
    

    Performance Expectations:

    * Introduces/identifies self as a physician assistant
    * Performs initial assessment/history and physical examination
    * Orders and interprets tests/results(lab, radiol., ekg, etc.)based on patient need
    * Documents care in the chart in accordance with Hospital policy & procedure
    * Formulates diagnoses
    * Formulates and implements treatment plan
    * Consults with physician when required based on patient's condition
    * Reassesses patients 
    * Orders, applies, removes, reapplies restraints
    * Provides emergency medical care including Code 64 management
    * Triages patients--ED only
    * Performs Trauma assessment/reassessment (Trauma Team only)
    * **Documentation**
    * Performance Expectations:
    
    * Legibly documents in patient chart, departmental forms, and any other Hospital forms all pertinent patient information following departmental and Hospital policies. 
    * Documents any patient or family education on the Hospital patient and family education form.
    * All orders and entries dated and timed
    * Level of documentation matches severity of situation
    * Results of tests ordered documented
    * Procedure notes completed
    * Follow-up/consultation with physician documented
    * Verbal/telephone orders signed, dated, and timed by end of shift
    * Billing forms completed fully and submitted--house only 
    * Discharge instructions written and given-ED only
    * **Technical Procedures**
    * Performance Expectations:
    
    * Explains procedure to patient/family
    * Uses sterile technique 
    * Performs procedures following accepted standards of care--IVs, foley cath, NGT, CVL removal, etc.
    * Suturing-technique, suture selection, etc.
    * Splinting-technique-ED only
    * Assists in surgery-technique-OR credentialled only
    * Performs CAT scan/MRI injections

    * Answers pages immediately(unless busy) using name and title-house only
    * Participates in performance assessment and improvement studies
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Graduate of a PA program accredited by The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or its predecessor.
    Current NCCPA certification
    Current New York State license as Registered Physician Assistant
    Current BLS & ACLS documentation
    Current Pediatric Life Support (PALS)
    Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) documentation
    Requires the psychomotor skills, including walking, to perform examinations and procedures.
    The interpersonal and customer service skills necessary to communicate effectively with patients, their family members, physicians, nursing, and other Hospital personnel when exchanging patient status, care, and treatment information.
    Requires the ability to recognize and address the psychosocial needs of patients and their families, and the ability and skills necessary to attend to special needs relating to the patient's age and diagnosis.
    The ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for approximately seventy-five percent of work time for responsibilities such as providing patient care, operating and monitoring equipment, and recording data in patient charts.
    The ability to walk and stand for approximately seventy-five percent of work time, and to lift, pull, push, and/or carry items such as equipment weighing up to twenty pounds or patients on stretchers for approximately twenty-five percent of work time when providing patient care..

    • Use and establish as necessary procurement strategies and schedules to ensure that project/area-specific requirements are managed within the procurement process.
    • Early and active involvement to secure strategic scope Develop RFX documentation in collaboration with the respective Project/Area lead within the program and project organization.
    • Drive and track RFX’s and related quotations, purchases for each respective RFX, and act as the owner of the commercial contacts with suppliers.
    • Participate in the program’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control process for RFXs by driving the process for each RFX.
    • Coordinate purchasing issues between projects, sub-projects and line organization.
    • Establish and lead negotiation teams, prepare and conduct negotiations to achieve established goals.
    • Follow up and report against the program’s procurement plan and against the program’s and project’s metrics and milestones.
    • Establish, plan, and lead relevant forums and, upon request, participate in relevant forums, according to the program’s meeting structure.
    • Contract management, including contract risks, deviations, claims management, etc. (in collaboration with the program’s Legal support when needed)
    • Assist Head of Procurement Transformation Program in reporting to Program Management, etc.
