Middle East Program
The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a renowned international affairs institution with six global centers in Russia, China, Europe, the Middle East, India, and the United States, is seeking a program coordinator to work with scholars in our Washington, DC-based Middle East Program. The program is an internationally acclaimed source of expertise and policy thinking on political, security, social, and economic developments in the Middle East North Africa region, and works closely with the Carnegie Middle East Center in Beirut.
The position will provide administrative support to the Vice President and the Program Director for Middle East program, assist in writing grant proposals and reports, plan and execute meetings and events, monitor program expenses and grant deliverables, assist in editing publications, coordinate information with the Beirut center, process payments and reimbursements, make travel arrangements, act as a first resource for external inquiries and press requests, and interface with the international public policy community.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree, approximately 2 years of experience in providing logistical, budgetary, and event support, excellent computer skills, and the ability to balance multiple competing tasks without loss of attention to detail. Knowledge of Arabic desired, but not required. Some knowledge of the Middle East, including relevant coursework, is preferred.
