Concrete Delivery Professional Driver
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Concrete Delivery Professional will drive a concrete mixer truck equipped with either a manual or automatic transmission, utilize his/her truck to properly mix the concrete and deliver concrete to assigned job sites. The individual will be required to display a professional attitude and show respect to customers at all times. The driver will be required to calculate the amount of water required for desired slump. In addition, the incumbent will complete a variety of pre-printed forms. The position receives guidance with respect to general objectives. In the majority of tasks and projects assigned, the incumbent determines methods, work sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments while operating within specific policy guidelines. Good judgment and common sense is required in all duties and any other task assigned. Normal work days are Monday–Saturday. Hours are determined by customer need. As such, hours will vary greatly, but often include night work, up to sixteen (16) hours per shift. Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Ability to read and comprehend, in English, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Possesses keen observation skills; pays attention to and remembers work related instructions, demonstrations, and procedures.
Ability to locate information on graphs such as diagrams, maps, floor plans, tables, forms, graphs, flowcharts and instrument gauges.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Basic personal computer skills
Ability to prioritize tasks.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; less than (1) one year of related experience and/or training. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
CDL Class B license (airbrake endorsement required)
CDL Class A license with a combination vehicle endorsement preferred
Ability to obtain valid DOT physical required
Ability to obtain Job Ready Services physical required
