MORTGAGE CLOSER

A Mortgage Closer is responsible for the calculation of closing figures and preparation of loan documents required for closing loans sold in the Secondary Market and to other investors. The closer is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of closed loans. The closer communicates with appropriate parties to ensure a positive member experience and that all loans close in accordance with credit union, investor and regulatory guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Closes all closed-end mortgage loan transactions. Serves as the point of contact for the member and Closing agents.

2. Initiates outbound calls to closing agents to obtain, fees, and set the expectations for loan closings. Help members via phone calls that require assistance during a mortgage closing meeting.

3. Reviews and approves the Closing Disclosure. Ensures all information is accurate, including but not limited to; fees, names, amounts, account conditions, seller concessions, taxes & payoffs. Reconciles Closing Disclosures with closing agents. Ensures proper compliance with TRID timelines for delivery of Closing Disclosure and re-discloses Closing Disclosure as necessary.

4. Completes system inputs to create mortgage loan documents. Ensures all wire requests are fully completed, accurate and given to Accounting prior to their cutoff. Confirms closing conditions were met.

5. Assesses member’s needs and concerns; provides consultative services to members regarding mortgage products and services.

Required Experience

A well-qualified candidate will have:

One year prior mortgage industry experience required.

VA, FHA and USDA experience is preferred.

Prior financial industry experience considered.
