Carollo Engineers is a nationally recognized engineering firm specializing in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking a Structural CAD Drafter to join our team in Tampa, FL.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop structural design layouts and drawings from sketches provided by engineers and senior design staff
- Assist in the preparation of structural specifications, estimates, and material lists with project engineer's or project manager's guidance
- Develop 2D drawing extractions from 3D structural models and complete detailing and annotation
- Assist in the quality checking of drafted product and conformance with drawing production standards and project specific CAD requirements
- Coordination of drawing production activities between all disciplines at the project level
Required Skills
- Fundamental working knowledge of structural drawing layout, detailing, and drafting of structural solutions
- Working knowledge of water, wastewater, and infrastructure design
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in 2D CAD using MicroStation and AutoCAD, and a demonstrated proficiency with 3D CAD techniques using MicroStation, Bentley Structural, and Bentley Architectural software applications
- Fundamental knowledge of 3D structural model for concrete, masonry, and steel structures using Bentley Structural and Bentley Architectural applications
- Basic understanding of converting data between MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Familiar with AISC weld symbols and their application
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in engineering design
- Experience in detail design of water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Two-year technical or Associate Degree
