Reviews and underwrites all direct and indirect consumer loan applications ensuring compliance with Credit Union and regulatory guidelines.
Thoroughly documents thought process when evaluating loan applications.
Provides assistance and training to Indirect Funding staff.
Assists in all areas of Consumer Lending as needed.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP:
Reports directly to the Loan Underwriting Supervisor.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Skills
SKILLS OR ABILITIES:
Knowledge of regulatory guidelines.
Knowledge of the “Credit Union Direct Lending” (CUDL) program preferred.
Effective, professional written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent math, analytical and member service skills.
Ability to deal with stressful situations with tact and diplomacy and resolve complex situations.
Ability to work in a fast pace environment and accurately complete assigned tasks within strict timeframes.
Ability to work in an environment of flexible and changing work schedules.
Ability to work independently and motivated to achieve goals with minimal supervision.
Ability to interact with diverse groups of people including members, potential borrowers, Credit Union Staff and dealer personnel in a diplomatic manner.
Proven ability to meet production goals.
Required Experience
Minimum of 2 years of loan underwriting.
Experience in a high volume lending center preferred.
Some exposure to an indirect lending environment.
