  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The house carpenter is expected to perform highly skilled repairs and maintenance for the property including but not limited to furniture, doors, windows, locks, door and window hardware.

    • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
    • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Fairmont Standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
    • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include adhering to the proper dress code and wearing name tag while working.
    • Comply at all times with Fairmont standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
    • Repair furniture, doors, windows
    • Install doors, shelving, and windows
    • Repair and install hardware
    • Frame and finish walls
    • Install and repair casings
    • Install and repair lock sets
    • Install and repair subfloors
    • Install and frame ceilings
    • Repair masonry
    • Maintain par for items such as fasteners, lock parts, furniture hardware, window hardware, caulking, door hardware, ceiling tiles, insulation, dry walls, framing members, finish trim, hammers, chisels, screwdrivers, pliers, scratch awl, drills, bits, saws, blades, routers, sanders, levels, squares, tape measures, pencils, razor knives, tin snips, flat bar, lock cutters, glass cutters, tile cutter

    EDUCATION

    • Trade school or college course work in related field helpful.
    • At least three years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field required.
    • High school diploma required.
    • Previous supervisory responsibility required.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Long hours sometimes may be required.
    • Very Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
