We primarily focus on residential remodeling in the greater Honolulu area and Windward side. Most jobs include but are not limited to: decks, stairs, lanais, additions, bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels, exterior home repairs, cabinetry and millworks, carpentry, flooring, painting, drywall, and handyman work.

POSITION SUMMARY
Hilweh Builders is seeking an experienced Carpenter to assist and take lead with various construction needs. The Carpenter is primarily responsible for working side-by-side with the Owner or independently to create a smooth, safe and efficient building process. The Carpenter may supervise a Helper. The ideal candidate is self-driven and eager to learn on the job.
JOB DUTIES
Perform variety of physical general construction labor tasks on construction projects including but not limited to:
· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and dimensions of the project.
· Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials such as wood, metal, and plastics.
· Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, and cabinetry.
· Collaborate with other construction professionals, including architects, electricians and plumbers, to ensure project requirements are met.
· Repair or replace damaged or defective parts.
· Inspect work to ensure conformity to specifications and quality standards.
· Follow safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
· Operate and maintain hand and power tools relevant to the carpentry trade.
· Tidying up work areas and cleaning job site.
· Loading and unloading building materials and construction equipment such as lumber, hammers, power saws, air compressors, power drills, cabinetry, appliances, sinks, etc.
· Preparing worksite and materials.
· Perform demo on remodeling projects.
· Communicate effectively with crew and customers. · Drive to various job sites and pick up materials as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
The Carpenter should be reliable, detail oriented, have physical stamina, take direction well, have decent math skills, good communication skills and professional on the job. The General Laborer will thrive in an environment where they can ask questions and learn on the job.
This person will meet most or all of the following requirements:
· Proven experience as a Carpenter in the construction industry.
· Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
· Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques and materials.
· Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
· Excellent attention to detail and precision.
· Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
· Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
· Pass a background check.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in carpentry is preferred.
