    About the Role

    Our Carpenters play a pivotal role in helping our reconstruction team bring residential and commercial properties back to life after fire, water, storm, or mold damage. In this role, you’ll work closely with our Project Managers to complete assigned repair jobs safely, efficiently, and to industry standards.

You’ll have the chance to learn from skilled Project Managers and Carpenters with over 20 years of experience, while also bringing your own craftsmanship and problem-solving skills to each project.

    What You’ll Do

    As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for completing residential and commercial repair jobs assigned by the Project Managers in the reconstruction department. You’ll work from punch lists and work orders, communicate job progress, and help ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to company and industry standards.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Work safely in residential and commercial properties damaged by fire, water, storm, and/or mold

    Complete assigned repair jobs using punch lists, work orders, and project direction

    Communicate job progress with Estimators, Project Directors, Production Managers, Coordinators, and Project Managers

    Perform demolition of damaged structures using hand and power tools

    Measure, cut, shape, construct, install, and repair wood and other materials

    Complete framing, finish carpentry, trim carpentry, drywall, structural repairs, and related reconstruction work

    Inspect damaged framework and complete repairs to walls, floors, doorframes, fixtures, and other structures

    Measure and calculate materials needed for assigned jobs

    Check work throughout the project to ensure it meets code, specifications, and quality standards

    Complete assigned jobs on time and within budget

    Clean and organize job sites, vehicles, tools, and equipment

    Travel to one or more job sites per day as needed

    Unload trash and materials in assigned areas

    Assist the mitigation department with board-ups, roof tarping, and other jobs as requested

    Accurately record time and code it to the appropriate jobs

    Set and complete SMART goals throughout your employment

    Perform other duties as assigned

    What We’re Looking For

    We’re looking for a dependable, skilled Carpenter who can work independently, communicate professionally, and take ownership of assigned work. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in changing environments, solving problems in the field, and representing the company well with customers and team members.

    You should have:

    Strong knowledge of carpentry skills

    Experience with finish carpentry, framing, structural work, drywall, and trim carpentry

    Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, equipment, and machines

    Ability to read punch lists, follow work orders, and complete assigned repairs

    Strong measurement and basic math skills for materials and estimates

    Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail

    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

    Strong customer service and communication skills, both by phone and face to face

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Ability to work safely in hazardous or damaged environments

    Comfort using technology such as an iPhone and iPad

    Ability to learn and operate our primary operating system, RMS

    Ability to maintain an acceptable background check and motor vehicle record

    Ability to safely operate a company vehicle

    Required Experience

    High School Diploma or GED required

    5+ years of experience in the construction, repair, or restoration industry as a Tradesman or Carpenter

    Preferred Experience

    7+ years of experience in finish carpentry

    Roofing experience

    Physical Requirements

    This is an active, hands-on role that requires working in a variety of job site conditions. Candidates must be able to:

    Remain in a stationary position up to 25% of the time while in a vehicle

    Constantly move about job sites

    Move throughout stairs, walkways, roofs, crawl spaces, and other work areas

    Occasionally ascend and descend ladders to complete jobs

    Frequently lift up to 60 lbs.

    Communicate with customers and internal team members by phone and face to face

    Safely operate a company vehicle
