Company Overview:
Textile company servicing the Apparel, Home Décor, and Industrial markets is in search of a Purchasing Agent to join our dynamic team! The right candidate will be proactive, with experience in inventory management, and an eye for detail.

Purchasing Agent Responsibilitie s:

• Issue, Prioritize, and Expedite Purchase orders with Vendors
• Analyze Sales and Usage numbers to create purchase orders
• Request bids and create summary worksheets of quotes as well as negotiate prices on purchase orders
• Communicate specifications for purchase orders
• Maintain our purchase order system with current specifications, pricing, minimums, and other information
• Understand current Vendor capabilities, create summary worksheets to keep track of these capabilities, and maintain a resource library of samples
• Communicate quality problems to vendors and work to resolve issues to improve future performance as well as write up Debit Memos
• Coordinate freight on Foreign shipments and tracking all documents such as original invoice, packing slip, and bill of lading
• Proof read import documents for accuracy and inputting the information into our system for payment, inputting warehouse receipts, and inputting banking and wire information
• Proof read all import entries for proper duty rates and shipping charges
• Resolution of product problems with Vendors such as quality problems or shipping errors

Qualifications:

• Microsoft Excel/Word knowledge is required
• Cross-training on other positions is required
• Knowledge of fabrics is a plus

Our fabric is used by a wide assortment of manufacturers in Apparel, Outerwear, Sportswear, Caps, Headwear, Uniforms, Aprons, Bags, Luggage, Accessories, Emblems, Sublimation Heat Transfer, Home Furnishing, Industrial, Medical, Automotive, etc.

Carr Textile is headquartered in Fenton, Missouri, U.S.A., a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. We operate a 160,000 sq ft manufacturing and distribution facility in Sikeston, Missouri with the capabilities of digital printing, sublimation, re-rolling, biasing, slitting, die cutting, sewing, and plastic extrusion. In addition, we have a New York City office/showroom with two Sales Representatives. Carr Textile stocks more than 5 million yards of fabric with multiple warehouse shipping points in the United States and abroad. We offer our fabrics worldwide with Asia to Asia shipments available.
