Carrier Recruiter & Dispatcher (Operations Specialist) - Transportation and Logistics
Blue Truck is a national furniture logistics company that's reshaping how customers experience delivery of big, important purchases like sofas, beds, and dining tables. We specialize in white-glove, in-home delivery for some of the fastest-growing furniture brands in the country, combining smart logistics with a seamless delivery experience and high-quality support.
Founded by a team with backgrounds at Uber and other high-growth startups, we're using technology to bring the furniture supply chain into the modern world. Our focus is simple: let furniture brands shine at what they do best — designing and selling amazing products — while we handle the heavy lifting of delivering them to customers' homes safely, quickly, and professionally.
Blue Truck is growing fast. (Really fast.) We've built a coast-to-coast network and earned a reputation for service that stands out in an industry that doesn't always get it right. For people who are ambitious, solution-oriented, and excited to be part of a company that's still early in its journey, this is a ground-floor opportunity to shape and build the company.
You are responsible for carrier acquisition - recruiting carriers with their own box truck and operating authority to become part of the Blue Truck family - and then dispatch and support once they are on the road and running with us.
Carrier screening : Screen and qualify potential carriers who want to run with Blue Truck. Determine their level of furniture delivery and assembly experience, and qualify them for mechanical aptitude, moving skills, and customer service.
Manage the recruiting flow : Once you screen a candidate carrier, manage their progression through the recruiting process. Help them submit the necessary insurance documentation, schedule their onboarding interview with our Carrier Operations Manager and deliver feedback from that interview, and manage the carrier's progression through the recruiting process through their first route start.
Prepare carriers for first route success : Run through economics with carriers so they understand their pay. Verify they own the required equipment (dollies, moving blankets, etc.) and are prepared for success.
Provide on-route support : Answer calls in our Operations (“ops”) line from carriers who are out in the field conducting deliveries. Help them troubleshoot a variety of situations - anything from getting in contact with their customer, navigating elevators and concierge staff, or locating assembly instructions.
Monitor on-route performance : Track how crews are progressing, get ahead of issues, and flag problems to the carrier operations manager.
We are looking for someone with freight industry experience as well as a desire to get to speed on what makes furniture delivery successful. You know what an “MC” number is and can look up a carrier in SAFER, and are eager to learn what makes for a good delivery and how to properly strap down furniture in a truck.
This is an in-office position in Norcross, GA.
