Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Carrier Sales Representative to join our freight brokerage team. This role is responsible for building relationships with carriers, negotiating rates, booking freight, and ensuring on-time pick-up and delivery of shipments. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong communication skills, and understands the logistics and transportation industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Source, develop, and maintain relationships with carriers across multiple regions.
Negotiate rates with carriers and ensure cost-effective shipping solutions.
Book and schedule freight shipments while ensuring timely pick-up and delivery.
Track and trace shipments; proactively communicate delays or issues to internal teams and customers.
Manage daily carrier operations, resolve service issues, and maintain high service levels.
Monitor market trends and capacity to stay competitive with pricing and coverage.
Maintain accurate records in TMS and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with internal teams including customer sales and operations to meet customer needs.
Qualifications:
1–3 years of experience in carrier sales, transportation, or logistics preferred (brokerage experience a plus).
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Experience using a TMS (McLeod, Truckstop, DAT, or similar platforms a plus).
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
