Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing strategies with clients, and oversee preparation of legal documents in connection with initiating and finalizing divorces, spousal support, child support/child custody. Experience in handling legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence is also a plus. If you have a proven record of success both in and out of court, apply now! Responsibilities: • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases • Communicate effectively and often with clients with an emphasis on efficiently progressing cases along Qualifications: • At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants • Extra consideration for those with a criminal justice background • Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association) • Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high Compensation: $110,000 - $150,000 yearly
