We are looking for a Director of Sales and Catering that can help make these meeting spaces a reality for our business and social clients. Solicit corporate, association, travel agent and other business through personal calls, trips and networking.
Maintain and expand targeted customer contacts in Delphi.
Actively participate in industry and civic organizations, serving as a representative of the company to enhance our knowledge of local operations and activities.
Maintain and expand customer database via direct mail, personal visits and phone calls with participants and potential clients to ensure program's success.
Manage group bookings, site inspections and visits as needed.
Prepare contracts and BEO's as needed for events.
Actively work with Resort and Banquet teams to ensure a smooth transition for the event.
Work with the marketing team on advertising, direct mail and sales initiatives, making appropriate recommendations for realignment, when necessary.
Oversee and ensure the update of the different group websites such as CVENT.
Generate and cross book sales leads and monitor progress of the sales team for the same.
Responsible for training sales/catering team and department heads on appropriate aspects of cross selling.
Perform necessary supervisor functions to effectively and efficiently manage personnel assignments, which includes mentoring, developing and training.
Determine the standards of performance as a basis for review of the progress of sales department staff.
Must be willing to oversee and/or work booked events as needed to ensure client satisfaction.
Must be willing work some weekends and/or holiday when events necessitate.
Experience/Knowledge and Skills:
Six+ years of hotel, resort or hospitaity sales management experience;
Four-year college degree is preferred; however, any combination of education and training within hotel sales may also be considered;
Previous supervisor experience preferred;
Requires knowledge of general sales techniques, yield management, and customer service skills;
Must be proficient in MS Office Suite with an emphasis in Excel and Outlook, and Delphi Advanced;
Ability to read, analyze and interpret sales documents and contracts;
Requires excellent spoken and written English communication skills;
Occasionally required to lift and move up to 30 pounds;
Routinely required to sit, talk and hear.
