    JOB DESCRIPTION

    A dishwasher is required to clean pans, pots, dishes, and other elements used in a kitchen or restaurant. Dishwashers need to operate the dishwashing machine or wash dishes by hand, and maintain, clean, scrape, sort, and stack dirty dishes, load them into the dishwashing machine and to turn it on. Once the cleaning operation is complete, dishwashers will unload the dishes and put them in their places to be reused again.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    Clean, scrape, sort, stack, load, unload, and put away all pots, pans, dishes, and other items used in the kitchen or restaurant

    Operate the dishwashing machine, including adding chemicals, as needed

    Follow proper food safety guidelines by washing hands in between touching dirty dishes and clean dishes

    Take all trash to the dumpster as needed and at the end of the shift

    Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, racks, grills, broilers, fryers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment

    Sweep and mop store rooms and walk-in coolers on a weekly basis

    Clean employee rest rooms on a daily basis

    Clean loading dock on Mondays , Wednesday and Fridays

    Wash all trash cans on a weekly basis

    Clean ovens on a weekly basis

    Assist with banquet set up, as needed

    Assist in putting away groceries using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method

    Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods, as needed

    Mop kitchen and dish room at the end of every shift

    Assists others in the kitchen and dining room, as needed

    Attend all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement

    Any and all duties assigned by management

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Must be at least 18 years old or meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages

    Previous experience washing dishes in a commercial setting preferred

    Must be able to pass required state food safety certification requirements

    Must have reliable transportation

    Must be able to pass pre-employment testing (i.e. drug test, background check, etc)

    Must have full availability and be able to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

    KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

    Ability to read, write and speak English (multi-lingual a plus)

    Ability to understand, follow and give written and oral instructions

    Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with guests

    Ability to interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner

    Ability to work harmoniously with fellow employees and guests

    Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional

    Follow all company policies and procedures

    Speak with others using clear and professional language

    Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others

    Ability to (>8 hours per day) reach, bend, twist, pull, push, grasp, walk, stand, stoop, kneel, run, sit, climb, reach overhead, and bend to perform normal job functions

    Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)

    Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 40 lbs

    Ability to frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions

    Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures
