    JOB TITLE:                    GROUNDSKEEPER- SUPPLEMENTAL

    DEPARTMENT:              Facilities

    REPORTS TO:                Assistant Director of Campus Services 

     

    BENEFITS

    All supplemental employees are required to be part of the Michigan Public Schools Employee Retirement System (MPSERS).

     

    SUMMARY

    Performs daily and routine operations in the maintenance and upkeep of the Campus athletic fields, buildings and grounds as assigned by the Director of Facilities or designee.  Operates and maintains all related equipment as assigned. Informs the Director of Facilities or designee on the immediate condition of all assigned areas and maintains good relations with the public and staff. Must have the ability to work well on his/her own; ability to be trustworthy and maintain confidentiality; ability to read and follow written and oral directions and to plan and work well independently or in a large group. Must be able to operate equipment while maintaining a safe environment for the public, students and staff.

     

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

     

    REQUIRED:

    • High school diploma or GED or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Computer skills, including knowledge of and the ability to use the Internet and email and enter time worked for payroll.
    • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid unrestricted Michigan driver’s license with good driving record 2 points or less over the last three years at the time of employment.

    PREFERRED:

    • One year of landscaping experience.

    This position will work part-time, approximately 24-32 hours per week.
