  • Responsibilities

    The Health and Exercise Science department is seeking an organized, motivated and outgoing individual to assist Dr. Knowlton.

     

    Must have strong writing skills, be responsible and ability to communicate via email and text messages if schedule changes. Ability to perform simple math, and skills in MS Word and Excel. Previous experience working with Blackboard, with the ability to meet deadlines. Junior class standing preferred. Must be a current La Sierra University student.

Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation. As such the following specific skills are indispensable:

     

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues,

    Experience in configuring, integrating, testing and deploying software from several different vendors,

    Good technical knowledge of current hardware and network standards

    Direct, hands-on experience with automated software management tools

    Some SQL knowledge and familiarity with basic queries

     

    Skills that will set the candidate apart are:

    Knowledge of a scripting language such as Perl, PowerShell, JavaScript, or PHP

    Previous/ existing experience working in a credit union or other financial institution

    Database administration / experience with relational database servers

    Relevant industry certifications
