  • Responsibilities

    We are looking for a Software Quality Analyst who is responsible for testing complex Structural Engineering, CAD, and Business Management software including the design, creation, documentation and execution of complex software test cases, and also includes verification of bug fixes and enhancements, researching bug reports, verification of software requirements, and provide Technical Support. This person will be an active and critical member of an Agile Development scrum team within the software development process and is a key part of the decision making group to assess risk of various projects alongside software developers and product managers. Opportunities for mentoring others on required job duties and cross training across teams on all the applications with the software suite.

    Required Skills

    Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Design test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures.
    • Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
    • Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests or usability.
    • Document software defects using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers.
    • Participate in product design reviews.
    • Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness or to mitigate risks.
    • Investigate customer problems referred by technical support.
    • Install, maintain, or use software-testing programs.
    • Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality.
    • Install and configure recreations of software production environments to allow testing of software performance.
    • Collaborate with field staff or customers to evaluate or diagnose problems and recommend possible solutions.
    • Ability to interact professionally with others including co-workers, vendors, and customers.
    • General automation knowledge and experience (Test Complete experience a plus).
    • Competent in analytical, design, problem solving, project management, and technical skills.
    • Demonstrates strong teamwork, quality management, planning, professionalism, initiative and innovation skills.

    Required Experience

    This role requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related major or the equivalent combination of 3 - 5 years of related experience plus education.

    Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups including managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    Proficient in doing research, analysis, and the resolution of most software problems in complex network environments.
