Counsel and support all incoming students as they adapt to the University environment. Supervise professional staff and student employees and manage residence hall facilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the overall supervision, training, evaluating and discharging of student and staff personnel in the dorm.

• Responsible for planning, scheduling, and attending:

  1. Spiritual Services
  2. Social Activities
  3. Residence Council
  4. Assigned Committees

• Responsible to supervise nightly room check activities.

• Develop residence hall guidelines that will coordinate with University policy.

• Provide counseling to resident students and refer students to professional services as needed.

• Keep organized records in areas such as:

  1. Resident’s information files
  2. Worship attendance
  3. Organize and approve overnight leaves
  4. Disciplinary Documentation

• Set procedures for making room assignments, assisting with roommate disputes and maintain appropriate paperwork

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Ability to counsel young adults.

• Knowledge of developmental issues associated with young adults.
• Ability to make decisions.

• Knowledge of composition, grammar, and a variety of communication styles.
• Ability to communicate both simple and complex messages.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and other software used by Residential Life.
• Ability to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality at all times.

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE

• A Bachelor degree preferred, Master’s desired.
• One to three years’ experience in a related field.
