    Technology and Patent Division of major Boston facility is adding to staff and seeking a TECHNOLOGY LICENSING ASSOCIATE

     

     

    This is a fulltime role as a Technology Licensing Associate (TLA). The intellectual property division is filing and prosecuting a wide and varied patent portfolio and then disseminating the technology internationally through licensing to companies large and small. This position is specifically for someone with a degree in Biology and strong internship experience.

     

    Supporting a Licensing Officer, as a TLA, you will be exposed to major areas of technology licensing. You will work closely with leading scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs from the Boston biotech community, and executives from industry, and patent attorneys. You will assist in drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements, evaluate and explore commercial opportunities for the technologies, and establish and maintain the entries for those technologies in a comprehensive technology, IP, contractual, and financial database. The position offers extensive mentorship and career support from the Licensing Officers, who bring decades of varied industry and scientific expertise to their position.

     

    • You MUST have a DEGREE IN BIOLOGY/ LIFE SCIENCE
    • You MUST have super strong WRITING SKILLS.
    • You MUST be able to work in a fast paced, busy, deadline driven environment.
    • You MUST have 2 years experience.

     

    The ideal candidate demonstrates strong intellectual curiosity, is a self-starter who thrives in an environment that encourages strategic thinking, and enjoys working independently in a collaborative setting.

     

     

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • B.A. or B.S. degree in the life sciences or bio fields and some research, business, and/or contractual experience is required.
    • Facility with computer applications, preferably involving database systems is necessary.
    • Strong EXCEL/Spreadsheets
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, including the ability to quickly communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly.
    • Excellent organizational and priority setting skills, good judgment, and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are also required.
