Licensing Manager Technology Transfer & Commercialization
Cartwright Search Group has been retained to search for a Licensing Manager in the Technology Licensing and Commercialization division of a world-renowned Hospital in Boston.
Overview of the Role:
- Serve as Organizations representative in marketing, negotiating and securing transfer of Hospital-owned technology to for-profit corporations for its development and application.
- Monitor and protect hospital interests in established corporate sponsored research programs.
- Identify, evaluate and market technology licensing and sponsored research opportunities to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical companies.
- Draft and negotiate complex material transfer, licensing and sponsored research contracts.
- Manage own portfolio of inventions and patent investments and work with attorneys to obtain patents for Hospital-owned technology.
Requirements:
- An advanced degree in the Life Sciences, Engineering or Medicine and 2-4 years of directly related experience with associated deal sheet.
- Knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts.
- Relevant knowledge and experience in startup formation, entrepreneurship, and licensing and commercialization of medical device, diagnostics and therapeutics desired.
- Strong analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, experienced-based cross-functional knowledge.
- Strong communication skills in order persuade and negotiate with others on important matters.
