    TheTechnology Licensing Associate requires a BA or BS in one of the Physical Sciences. This is an amazing opportunity to work in a world-renowned organization with the brightest scientists, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and inventors.

    The Technology Licensing Associate will administer, manage and maintain license agreements for the Licensing/Tech Transfer, working with and under the direction of the Technology Licensing Officers.

    The Associate will serve as a liaison to various internal and external constituencies and, working under the tutelage of the Licensing Officer, communicate with faculty, students, industrial counterparts, patent attorneys and staff accountants on invention disclosures, various licensing activities, and patent prosecution matters, as well as assist in obtaining relevant information concerning publication, sponsorship, and open source software matters.

    The Associate will attend licensing negotiations with business representatives and keep track of terms and issues of licensing agreements as well as draft basic agreement clauses and amendments reflecting negotiations for review by the Licensing Officers.

    The Associate will enter license agreements and associated data into a database management system and keep updated files and prepare reports as required as well as participate in obtaining waivers of government rights to inventions and assist in technology marketing.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate needs to be a detail-oriented person who thrives in an environment that encourages critical thinking and enjoys working independently in a strategic but collaborative setting.

    BA or BS in one of the physical sciences is required (astronomy, chemistry, geology and geophysics, physics, math, statistics, and meteorology.)

    A strong writing and comprehension skill with the ability to quickly communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly is vital.

    Must be a self-starter, complete multiple assignments despite interruptions, have strong intellectual curiosity, and an interest in clarifying and simplifying complexity.

    Strong priority setting and proofing skills needed. An interest in intellectual property and copyright open source is desirable. Office and/or organization experience is a requirement.
