    Senior Human Resources Manager-Business Partner

    Our client is a heavily funded biotech start-up that was founded by a team of MIT researchers and serial entrepreneurs. The cross-disciplinary expertise and deep industry experiences allow this start-up to innovate drug formulation and quickly bring differentiable drug products from benchtop to market.


    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a motivated and experienced and hands-on individual to establish and lead the human resources function in a growing start-up biotech environment. This is a unique opportunity and challenge to build an HR function from the ground up working with a supportive and dynamic team. The role is both tactical and strategic. This is a key position that will bring strategic HR expertise across operations, administrative management, benefits administration, staffing, and strategic HR planning.

     

    The ideal candidate will be able to operate independently, must be detail-oriented, and must be comfortable multi-tasking while seamlessly pivoting to meet changing priorities. YOU MUST HAVE EXP. IN START-UPS AND BIOTECH/PHARMA.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Represent company culture initiatives through internal and external outreach and ensure employee and leadership alignment with company values and mission.
    • Ensure the business attracts, develops, and retains high quality talent at all levels in a continuous pipeline to support the growth objectives, opportunities, and strategies of the business.
    • Lead core people processes, maintain employee records according to company policy and legal compliance requirements. (to include staffing planning, performance management process, talent reviews, and employee relations).
    • Help shape and build our HR function to effectively support our talent strategy in the short and long-term.
    • Manage the full recruitment process by preparing job descriptions, job portals, ad postings, mapping and reaching out to potential candidates and maintaining pipeline.
    • Design a streamlined onboarding initiative. Process all onboarding related paperwork and support all onboarding efforts.
    • Support reporting needs for senior management to include reporting into leadership on HR trends and issues that impact business objectives.
    • Create and directly manage HR policies, guidelines, and processes.
    • Ensure compliance and reporting with all applicable policies and employment law requirements.


     

    Benefits Administration

    • Implement a benefits plan; and administer all benefits programs on behalf of the Company and ensure compliance with procedures, laws, and regulations.
    • Research and analyze market data to make compensation and benefit recommendations.
    • Liaise with vendors and support teams to obtain cost-effective employee benefits, manage renewal decisions and forms, and monitor benefits for options aimed at employee satisfaction and retention.
    • Provide individual, and leadership coaching and education on areas such as company policies and benefits, reviews and performance, interviewing, and assorted HR training.

      Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree, minimum of 7 years progressive experience in a Human Resources management role preferably at a small to mid-size biotech company.
    • HR certification preferred
    • Direct experience in a start-up environment is preferred. Life Science/Biotech strongly preferred.
    • Experience working for a global company to support employees in international markets.
    • Resourceful and capable of working across different levels, both tactically and strategically; rolling up sleeves to accomplish results
    • Exceptional written, verbal, and strong interpersonal skills.
    • Focused attention to detail, execution of tasks, and accountability.
    • Must be flexible, willing to take ownership and initiative, and highly collaborative.
    • Focused on delivering results, to understand the big picture and demonstrate excellent business acumen and judgement.

    • Experience with systems (HRIS, ATS) etc.
