    Job Description

    Duties:

    • Assist with the Hudson Data Jam Competition, which will include advertising, coordinating registration and judging, providing classroom support, judging entries, and running the Data Jam Awards Expo.

    • Help promote and teach Ecosystem Exploration programs for school groups at the Cary Institute, and Schoolyard Ecology programs at local schools.

    • Support other facets of the Institute's education programs, including teacher workshops, curriculum development and education research.

    This is a 12-week position, from mid-March through mid-June, 2019 with some flexibility in start and end dates. It is a temporary, hourly, non-exempt, un-benefited position, reporting to Dr. Alan Berkowitz, Head of Education. 

    All candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. Finalist candidates must successfully complete a background check.

    Position is open until March 1, 2019 or until filled.

    Qualifications

    • Course background (Bachelor's degree preferred) in ecology or related field.

    • Ecology teaching experience with school children and the public.

    • Ability to communicate with a wide range of the public.

    • Excellent writing and organizational skills.
