    Framatome is seeking an Early Career Ceramics Process Engineer for our Horn Rapids Road office in Richland, Washington. Process Engineering support of production activities: The Ceramics Product Center manufactures uranium and carbide ceramics for nuclear fuel fabrication.

     

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Troubleshoot and identify root cause solutions for manufacturing equipment, quality issues or reliability problems.
    • Use problem solving ability to define an issue, collecting data to quantify it, evaluating the data to support informed decisions, and implementing solutions all within a scheduled timeframe.
    • Develop a design of experiments plan for process qualifications, complete tests to implement the manufacturing process, and provide supporting documentation.
    • Write procedures to direct operators on how to perform a task with sequential written steps. Identify best practice actions to prevent errors or introduce unintended consequences.
    • Support manufacturing by working with operators and maintenance to evaluate equipment needs, preparing and reviewing documents, and interacting with customers to communicate information about their product.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    ALL CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY:

    • BS in Chemical or Materials Science Engineering/Engineering Technology plus 0 -2 years of engineering experience. In applicable states a PE license will be accepted in lieu of a 4 year engineering degree

      • Strong technical problem-solving abilities
        • Strong interpersonal skills
        • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills

     

     

    THE FOLLOWING MAY BE USED TO DIFFERENTIATE CANDIDATES WHO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION:

    • Previous internship/co-op experience in field of study
    • Candidates will be evaluated based off of experience and demonstrated capability.
    • Candidates must exhibit strong technical problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal skills, excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, good hands on mechanical aptitude, and a desire to work in a team environment.
    • Ability to work on multiple assignments at the same time, with the ability to plan out a project and meet deadlines.
    • Ceramics experience is a plus.
    • Preferred Characteristics- Motivating Others, Results Orientation, Customer Orientation, High Computer Aptitude, Communication Skills, Dealing with Ambiguity, Conflict Management, Directing Others, Priority Setting, Problem Solving, and Producing Deliverables.
