  • Responsibilities

    Wilshire is seeking applicants for a senior analyst that would work in the investment operation group based in Suzhou, China. You will be part of the performance analytics group to support the operation team located in the headquarter office in Santa Monica, CA. You will be an integral part of the operation group, providing a team of senior managers with technical and analytical support.

     

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of institutional clients’ investment portfolios, including rate of return calculation, analytics computation, performance attribution
    • Monitor and track investments’ performance in software programs and Excels
    • Provide accurate and timely performance reporting; communicating with various vendors to resolve discrepancies/conduct reconciliations
    • Produce timely delivery of client performance reports and analysis
    • Analyze and monitor the integrity of data submitted by thousands of investment managers by auditing database for outliers, holes, etc.
    • Assist in investment research projects using Wilshire analytics tools
    • Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

     

     

    WHAT YOU HAVE:

    • 0 to 3 years work experience in financial or investment industries
    • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Mathematics
    • Programming skills in Python and SQL preferred
    • Background in Financial engineering or computer engineering preferred
    • Solid work habits, including strong detail orientation, good problem-solving skills, and an ability to organize and prioritize work in order to meet tight deadlines
    • Ability to quickly learn new systems and software
    • Good quantitative and computing skills
    • Good writing and communication skills
    • Must be team-oriented while being able to work independently
    • Participation in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program is expected
    • Proficient in MS Excel

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Arizona (or capable of obtaining) • Proficient with hydrologic and hydraulic software, including HEC-1/HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS • Strong technical writing skills • Working knowledge of AutoCAD • Outgoing, friendly, approachable (team player) • Previous leadership experience or someone ready for a step up • Strong communication skills with team members and clients • Proficient in computer software (Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Civil3D, Outlook, Microsoft Project) • Competent technical skills required to complete engineering tasks • Ability to delegate assignments and determine methods and procedures • Self-motivated with the ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines without supervision • Detail-oriented but also flexible enough to be big picture/conceptual • Capable of envisioning the client’s goals • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a project engineer • Good reputation amongst peers, clients, and agencies • Able to follow general directions and guidelines for the firm’s policies, practices, and procedures
