About the Role:
Join the Chapter 13 Trustee's Office as a Case Auditor, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough audits of case files to ensure compliance with legal and financial standards.
Review and verify financial documents for accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with Claims and Court department staff to resolve discrepancies.
Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and recommendations.
Maintain organized records of audit processes and outcomes.
Assist in the development of audit policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a business office. preferably in an accounting or finance department.
Strong understanding of bankruptcy laws and financial regulations.
Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The Chapter 13 Trustee both evaluates Chapter 13 Bankruptcy cases and serves as a disbursing agent, collecting payments from the debtor and making distributions to the creditors according to the terms of the plan, which may offer creditors less than full payment on their claims. We are an office of 23 employees located in a historic downtown Mobile building. We are not a governmental agency.
