Harper Law Firm is seeking a detail-oriented Case Audit Temp to review and audit personal injury case files to ensure accuracy, financial completeness, and compliance with firm procedures. This role requires strong analytical skills, financial awareness, and advanced Excel proficiency to identify discrepancies, track financial data, and ensure case documentation is accurate and complete. The ideal candidate has experience working with financial data, strong organizational skills, and the ability to carefully review large volumes of information with exceptional attention to detail. This is a temporary I-9 position, with the possibility of permanent hire. Responsibilities: • Conduct detailed audits of personal injury case files to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm standards. • Review financial records related to cases, including settlements, liens, medical bills, expenses, and disbursements. • Identify discrepancies or missing documentation within case files and flag issues for review. • Reconcile case financial data and verify calculations related to settlements and client disbursements. • Utilize Microsoft Excel to track case data, perform financial reviews, and generate audit reports. • Maintain organized audit logs and documentation of findings. • Communicate findings clearly with attorneys or management and recommend corrections where needed. • Ensure case files meet internal documentation and financial accuracy standards. Qualifications: Required Qualifications • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. • Experience working with financial records, accounting, bookkeeping, or settlement statements. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, formulas, reconciliation, and reporting). • Ability to review and organize large volumes of documentation. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience working in a personal injury law firm or legal environment. • Familiarity with settlement statements, medical liens, and case expenses. • Experience auditing case files or financial records. • Experience with the Filevine legal case management system preferred. Compensation: $20 - $22 hourly
