    Job Title: Case Management Disaster Human Services

    Location: Seattle, WA

    Job Summary:

    Case managers provide disaster human services case management services to eligible repatriated American citizens and disaster survivors in support of response operations conducted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Human Services Emergency Preparedness and Response (OHSEPR).

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Conduct intake assessments to assess disaster-caused unmet needs of individuals and families
    • Triage disaster survivors by need
    • Connect disaster survivors to a broad range of services and resources
    • Help survivors navigate federal disaster assistance
    • Develop individual recovery plans for disaster survivors
    • Keeping detailed case notes and documentation in compliance with program guidelines

    Preferred Skills:

    • The ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations, both verbally and in writing.
    • Building rapport and trust with clients, fostering a collaborative relationship.
    • Analyzing complex situations, identifying creative solutions, and making sound decisions.
    • Working within multi-disciplinary teams to develop case plans for disaster survivors with specified goals and outcomes is strongly preferred. Certification as a case manager, as determined by the state licensing and certification board.
    • Bilingual (English / Spanish) communication skills.
    • Managing multiple cases, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
    • Providing services that are respectful and responsive to the unique needs of diverse communities.
    • Demonstrating a genuine concern for the well-being of disaster survivors.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services fields.
    • Two years of prior experience in child welfare, emergency disaster response, and/or recovery environments.

    Rate: Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
