Starting Salary: $40,000 - $42,000 annually

Rohingya Culture Center Background:
The Rohingya Culture Center (RCC) was founded in 2016 in the heart of Chicago’s West Ridge/West Rogers Park neighborhood to meet the needs of the city’s growing Rohingya refugee population. Since 2010, over 600 Rohingya families have resettled in Chicago, and RCC has become a vital resource for them, offering language classes, employment support, youth programs, and access to social services. RCC serves not only the Rohingya but also other refugee and immigrant communities seeking assistance.
Job Overview:
The RSS Case Manager is responsible for providing holistic case management services to families enrolled in our Employment and Case Management programs. This includes conducting comprehensive assessments, developing Family Self-Sufficiency Plans (FSSP), and offering ongoing support to help families overcome barriers to self-sufficiency. The Case Manager will collaborate internally and with external partners to connect families to essential resources and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Family Assessments & Planning: Conduct thorough assessments for all family members to identify strengths, needs, and barriers to self-sufficiency. Develop individualized Family Self-Sufficiency Plans (FSSP) that include financial management, short- and long-term goals, and action plans for overcoming obstacles.
Self-Sufficiency Goal Development: Create Family Self-Sufficiency Plans with budgets, income sources, and strategies to address financial gaps. Develop Individual Employment Plans (IEPs) for adults in the household and identify goals to support long-term self-sufficiency.
Ongoing Case Management: Monitor family progress toward goals through regular follow-up assessments. Offer continuous support, including referrals to internal and external services, and adjust plans as necessary to ensure progress toward self-sufficiency.
Client Advocacy & Engagement: Actively engage with clients to co-develop goals, ensuring their needs and aspirations are central to the case management process. Assist families with navigating barriers to employment, housing, transportation, and childcare.
Collaboration & Referrals: Build and maintain relationships with community partners and service providers to connect clients with necessary resources and opportunities, including job training, housing assistance, and healthcare services.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain up-to-date case files and documentation in compliance with regulations and internal policies. Prepare reports on client progress and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
Tracking & Client Retention: Monitor client engagement and retention in services. Track progress and document any changes in family circumstances to adjust plans and ensure families stay on track to achieve their goals.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
Experience: 1-2 years of case management experience, preferably in social services, employment services, or working with refugee/immigrant populations, preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of financial literacy, budgeting, and economic self-sufficiency strategies.
Ability to assess and address family needs comprehensively, including barriers to employment, housing, and financial stability.
Excellent communication and cultural competency skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Salesforce
Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required; Fluency in Rohingya, Burmese, or Malay is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards.
Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for local travel are preferred.
