The UpCounty HUB provides food and essentials to families every week living in the Upper Montgomery County Region through safe home deliveries and community distributions. The Social Services department connects families and individuals served by the HUB with available health and human services in a respectfully, culturally sensitive manner.
POSITION OVERVIEW: The HUB Case Worker is an entry level bachelor’s degree position. Fluent Spanish speaking is required and applicants that do not specify proficient language capabilities will not be considered.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Meet with families and individuals served by the HUB to perform intake and needs assessments for the purpose of connecting them with additional assistance.
Ø Give community resources and assist in making contact if necessary
Ø Attend weekly team meetings with HUB staff.
Ø Report to the HUB Director of Programs and HUB CEO on a regular basis.
Ø Enter data into records in a timely manner
Ø Contribute to monthly and quarterly reports
Ø Participating in community engagement events to promote agency awareness
Ø Provide team support to complete SNAP applications if applicable
Ø Create and maintain current resource materials
Ø All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Ø Bachelor’s in social work or related human services degree
Ø Two plus years of Social Work Experience preferred
Ø Fluency in Spanish required.
Ø Working knowledge of the health and human services of Montgomery County is required, including but not limited to SNAP and other food and nutrition programs, rental and utility assistance, emergency assistance, legal aid, workforce development, language classes, citizenship programs, clothing assistance, healthcare, and eldercare.
Ø Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
Ø Effective communication skills; verbal and written.
Ø Superior customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult situations.
Ø Proficiency in MS Office required with strong spreadsheet and analytical skills
Ø Ability to learn software and other internal databases.
Ø Detail oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Ø Superior project management skills and the ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously
Ø Demonstrated ability to develop strong volunteer and professional partnerships
