PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead and coordinate all technology initiatives and projects for a for a high-growth financial lending and technology company.    The CTO will develop a strategic vision for the technologies that are developed and deployed by the Company.  Operate as a member of the senior team as the primary technology advocate. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct the planning, strategic goals, and objectives of the Technology Department.
• Ensure that technologies are being built and deployed with the right methodology, uphold best coding practices, lead code reviews, and develop procedures that drive long-term quality and future code-sharing.
• Provide technical expertise to develop leading-edge technology solutions from start to finish: architecture, design, prototyping, implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, profiling, maintenance, and support.
• Determine necessary resources to create solutions of identified initiatives.
• Prioritize and manage workload to aggressive deadlines. Ensure timelines, expectations, and deliverables and that the team(s) involved are held accountable to these expectations.
• Manage day-to-day operations of entire IT infrastructure including corporate network, data, email, phone, voice and desktops
• Provide the highest levels of service delivery:  systems availability, security, response time and problem recovery
• Project management and implementation of key technical initiatives
• Supervise IT personnel
• Make presentations at all levels of the company and board
• Develop custom reports as defined by senior management
• Assist in annual IT budget; recommends and decisions new hardware and software purchases, including cost estimates
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Experience with PHP, node.js, Amazon Web Services, web technologies.
• Extensive software development, systems, infrastructure and device management experience.
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing Distributed Enterprise Platforms in Managed and cloud-based hosting environments.
• Strong budget financial and vendor management skills.
• Experience with PHP Laravel framework a plus
• Quality assurance and Dev Ops experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse staff
• Exceptional planning, time management, problem solving and logical troubleshooting computer skills
• Process-oriented with documentation and project management skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Services or equivalent experience. MBA would be preferred.
• 5 to 10 years of technology experience in a high-growth environment.
• Strong leadership skills.  Management experience required.
• Experience in financial technology solutions a definite plus
• Demonstrated experience in converting strategic business goals into deliverable technology solutions.
