Dialog Café WeHo is looking for a Cashiers to join our team. We’re seeking someone who shares our core values, has a genuine passion for hospitality, is team-oriented, and can stay composed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
The Cashier role is a key part of Dialog Café’s front-of-house experience. This position directly supports Management by ensuring smooth day-to-day service, thoughtful guest interactions, and accurate order flow. As one of the first points of contact, the Cashier helps set the tone for each guest’s experience through clear communication, warmth, and attention to detail.
This is a part-time position
Shifts range from 6:30 am – 9:15pm
Pay rate: $20.25/hour + tips
Duties & Responsibilities
Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming first impression
Learn and maintain complete knowledge of Dialog Café’s food and beverage menu, including ingredients and modifiers.
Stay up to date on menu changes, seasonal items, and 86’d items to ensure accurate ordering and communication
Accurately take guest orders in person, ensuring clarity and attention to detail
Provide menu guidance and thoughtful recommendations when appropriate
Operate the Point-of-Sale system efficiently and accurately
Handle cash transactions responsibly, including cash handling, making change, and maintaining drawer accuracy
Maintain awareness of pacing, line flow, and overall café rhythm
Engage with guests throughout their visit to ensure satisfaction
Address guest concerns professionally and escalate to Management when needed
Perform opening and closing duties according to checklist
Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and professionalism at all times
Assist with side work, including stocking, cleaning, sweeping, and general upkeep
Support teammates and other departments to maintain a positive work environment
Assist with VIP guests and special service moments when needed
Contribute to a positive community presence and uphold Dialog Café’s reputation
Required Qualifications & Skills
High School Diploma or GED
Prior customer service or café/restaurant experience preferred
Valid Food Handler’s Certificate and ABC License
Strong understanding of hospitality and service standards
Ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and professionally
Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially with orders and payments
Ability to handle money accurately and maintain cash accountability
Comfortable standing for long periods of time
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Willingness to follow direction and ask questions when clarification is needed
Familiarity with health and safety regulations
