    Job Summary:

    The Cashier will use cash registers, electronic scanners, and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • None.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • At the beginning of shift, count drawer to ensure that it balances.

    • Greet customers as they enter the location.

    • Ask every customer at the time of check out if they would like to participate in Do It Best Rewards

    • Know the discount policy and apply discounts only in accordance with company policy.

    • Accept money in the form of cash, checks, and credit or debit cards for items purchased; validate check.

    • Take check and credit card payments for customers with charge accounts.

    • Assist with refunds and exchanges in accordance with company policy.

    • If a line forms in your aisle, call for other cashiers.

    • During slow times, should be straightening and facing aisles, mopping, sweeping, cleaning front windows, etc.

    • Assist customers with questions or price discrepancies.

    • At the end of the shift, count the drawer to ensure that it balances with the sales report.

    • Identifies prices of products and services and tabulates bills with available equipment.

    • Assists customers in locating various products, resolving complaints, or providing information.

    • Bag, box, and wrap purchased items.

    • Compliance with Hacienda uniform policy.

    • Ongoing completion of online training.

    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Good verbal communication skills
    • Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.
    • Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
    • Knowledgeable about company’s products and services, and customer-related policies

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Successful completion of on-the-job training

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods standing and working on cash register or related equipment.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
    • May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
    • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
