Position Summary
The Cashier Sales Associate plays a key role in delivering excellent customer service at the point of sale while supporting overall store operations. This position is responsible for handling transactions, assisting customers, and helping maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked store environment.
Key Responsibilities
Point of Sale (POS) & Transactions
Operate the point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently
Process purchases, returns, exchanges, and refunds
Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment
Ensure correct pricing and discounts are applied
Balance cash drawer and follow proper cash-handling procedures
Customer Service
Greet customers and create a friendly checkout experience
Answer questions about products, pricing, and store policies
Assist with returns and exchanges
Escalate concerns to a supervisor when needed
Maintain a helpful and positive store atmosphere
Sales Support
Assist customers in locating products
Encourage add-on and impulse purchases at checkout
Share current promotions, sales, and loyalty programs
Keep checkout areas clean and organized
Store & Merchandise Support
Stock shelves and replenish merchandise as needed
Maintain store cleanliness and organization
Support the sales floor during busy periods
Assist with receiving and tagging merchandise
Compliance & Accuracy
Follow all company policies and procedures
Maintain accuracy in transactions and documentation
Adhere to loss prevention and safety guidelines
Support inventory accuracy and shrink prevention
Team Support
Collaborate and cross-train in other departments
Follow schedules, attendance, and workplace expectations
Support weekends, holidays, and peak business periods
