Casne Engineering is seeking an energetic self-starter to work in a collaborative team of engineers and technology specialists to develop innovative solutions for Industrial IoT, sensor networks, and machine learning applications. Candidates must exhibit a confident, professional, positive demeanor with a team-based orientation and a genuine interest in operational technology. This is a great opportunity for those with some experience with instrumentation and control systems, industrial network protocols, and a primary focus on software development, streaming data, and machine learning. This position is classified as remote/work-from-home. Responsibilities * Work in cross-functional teams to design and develop edge and cloud-based software solutions * Interface with physical systems by implementing common industrial protocols such as OPC, BACnet, and Modbus * Develop back end services and microservices deployed on small devices, on-premise servers, and/or cloud servers * Utilize AWS and Azure cloud services using existing WebSocket and REST API's * Interface with open source and commercial SQL, No-SQL, and time series databases * Develop application code for data processing, analytics and machine learning * Utilize zero trust methods to develop robust and secure data access, storage, and transmission * Develop secure and reliable processes for retrieving data from sensors, processing it, and relaying it to databases and/or services * Collaboratively work with the team and customers to ensure algorithms generate accurate and reliable results * Design and develop mechanisms for updating and maintaining software as well as firmware of deployed devices on the field at scale * Create strong processes and workflows for developing, deploying, and scaling solutions * Building and maintaining good documentation of workflow and codebase as well as developing processes for scalable software development and stable deployment Required (Technical) * 3+ years experience coding and debugging stable, secure, production applications * Confident coding skills using Python and JavaScript * Experience coding against large time-series datasets * Experience with single-board computers/microcontrollers and sensors / instruments * Experience with industrial communication protocols (ex. Modbus, BACnet, OPC) Required (Business) * US citizenship and residency * Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced team environment/product iteration cycle * Motivated, driven, startup founder mindset, desire to drive positive change in the world * Embody a mindset of mentorship and give first * Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment * Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple deadline-driven tasks effectively and efficiently, including a proactive approach to follow-up * Ability to travel to Bellevue, WA for occasional all-hands meetings and team-building activities (estimate 4-6 times/yr) * Successful completion of criminal background checks and willingness to submit to random drug testing if required for access to critical environments Desirable * Experience coding in Java / J2EE * Knowledge of ML frameworks, unsupervised and supervised learning, data visualization, and data analysis tools * Full stack development experience including front end using React, Angular, and pure JavaScript/CSS * Experience with IoT communication and wireless and wired data transmission protocols (ex.
