    Job Description: Laser Fabrication Technician

    Company Name, a progressive manufacturing company specializing in laser fabrication, is seeking a skilled Laser Fabrication Technician to join our dynamic team. We are looking for an independent and detail-oriented individual who possesses:

    • A strong working knowledge of CAD/CAM engineering applications, such as Solidworks, Mastercam, or similar software (programming language and techniques).
    • Experience in electrode programming for laser fabrication.
    • At least three years of hands-on experience setting up CNC machines for laser cutting or a closely related industry.
    • The ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment where programs, setups, and tooling are constantly evolving, while effectively collaborating with colleagues and management as priorities shift.

    Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting, basic math, reading, writing, blueprint reading, comprehension skills, and computer usage. Experience with HAAS CNC machines, hard cutting, and high-speed machining will be considered a plus!

    Requirements:

    • Take full responsibility for programming, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting machines.
    • Participate in planning sessions and closely collaborate with the Tool Designer-CAD/CAM.
    • Follow work instructions and program lists provided by the Tool Designer-CAD/CAM.
    • Create CNC programs for various cutting routines and patterns directly at the machine.
    • Utilize MasterCam Software to generate cutter paths for laser fabrication.
    • Perform CNC machine setups as required.
    • Oversee all aspects of CNC laser cutting machine operation.
    • Collaborate closely with relevant personnel in the development and execution of prototype samples.
    • Maintain inventory of CNC cutters and promptly notify the supervisor when replacement tooling is needed.
    • Perform routine maintenance on CNC laser cutting machines.
    • Coordinate servicing of CNC machines when necessary.
    • Take accountability for troubleshooting and resolving issues that may arise during laser fabrication processes.
    • Maintain accurate records of hours worked and enter them into the computer system at the end of each shift.
    • Immediately halt a job if a non-conformance is detected and consult with the Tool Designer-CAD/CAM for resolution.
    • Adhere to assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
    • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area at the end of each shift.
    • Complete any other duties as assigned by the Tool Room Foreman.
    • Comply with all safety, discipline, cooperation, and teamwork rules and regulations set by the company.

    Salary info:

    $20 - $24 / hr
