    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Use of Network resources to determine coverage, assign new losses and review open files to ensure your Unit maintains excellent file quality in preparation for the audit of their unit.

    Responsibility to monitor reserves for accuracy, review claim checks issued by adjusters as well as electronic approval of all payments above each adjuster’s authority level and monitor Unit BI/UMBI metrics to ensure BI/UMBI severity is maintained at an acceptable level.

    Requires excellent communication and people handling skills with the ability to deal with peers, subordinates, and senior management in daily interaction and in bi-weekly Claim Committee meetings. Must be able to manage, train and develop adjusters through focused training classes, unit meetings, and daily one-on-one interaction.

    Responsibility for encouraging our BI/UMBI Cashout program including the use of our Meds Incurred and Future Meds releases

    Proactive File Management. Promoting the prompt and efficient handling of claims emphasizing the importance of timely review of new transfers, demands as well as medical packages. In addition, offers to settle and follow-up will be evaluated for timeliness.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    A College Degree is preferred, however a candidate with over 5 years handling bodily injury claims experience will be considered

    Experience handling large loss OR litigation claims with strong adjusting and negotiation skills required.

    Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.

    Excellent oral and written communication skills to quickly build rapport

    Overnight travel is occasionally required to meet with remote staff members in other states and/or to attend depositions, mediations, or trials.

    General office skills include faxing, copying and filing. Proficient in typing

    Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows 95 or above, Microsoft Access, AS 400 system and Internet browsing.
