Senior Process Engineer
Near Salt Lake City, UT
An inorganic chemicals/materials manufacturing company needs a senior engineer for their operation.
Position is a site process engineer working across plants and areas. Excellent variety!
Position:
- Most important: work in the operation and pilot area on all areas of interest. Full “applied” role – you must be used to and like working in coveralls vastly more than nice shirt!
- Senior process engineer work across multiple operating areas of the site as part of a small engineering and development team
- Extensive work in (onsite) lab and pilot areas for process development
- Responsible for the whole gamut of work from troubleshooting processes, process development, process optimization, assisting ops with engineering projects, design/scale-up. There is backup – the team works together for success.
- Define and lead continuous improvement projects
- Work with and train-in junior engineers and production engineers
- Management of technical/process side of opex and capex projects
- Integration of safety systems into all aspects of processes
Required/preferred
- Required: engineering degree – chemical, extractive met, materials, similar
- Required: 5 years of experience. More is good! Compensation can go up with experience
- Experience working in an applicable process-type operation: soda ash, magnesia, salts, potash, fertilizer, phosphates, inorganic acids, sulfur, industrial minerals, slurry processing, etc.
- 100% petrochem/refining will probably not work
- Must be able to both currently work in the U.S. and not need a visa of any kind to continue to do so.
Salary based on experience - but $80,000 - $110,000, relo possible.
