    Job Description

    We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our IT team in Anchorage, AK. In this role, you will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization's network infrastructure. You will work onsite 2-3 days per week alongside other IT staff to ensure optimal network performance and security.     Duties and Responsibilities

    • Configure and maintain network equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs
    • Troubleshoot network issues and outages
    • Design and implement network architecture changes and upgrades
    • Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans
    • Coordinate with vendors and external partners on network needs
    • Document network configurations, topology, and standard operating procedures
    • Configure and maintain voice over IP (VoIP) phone systems
    • Administer network security tools and policies
    • Provide cost/benefit analysis for network hardware and software

    Required Experience

    • Experience as a network engineer or similar role
    • Expert knowledge of routing protocols, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall administration
    • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or comparable network hardware
    • Understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and other networking fundamentals
    • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools like SolarWinds
    • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs of network equipment as needed

    Nice to Have

    • Knowledge of Alaska telecommunications regulations and providers
    • Experience in transportation or critical infrastructure industries
    • Strong documentation skills
