CCIE Engineer - Contract (6 to 12 months) - Morrisville, NC (Hybrid)

Pay: $83/hr on W2

Must have an active CCIE certification. Seeking a skilled CCIE Engineer proficient in Nexus, data center operations, route switching, and Cisco UCS for a pivotal role in network optimization and deployment.

Responsibilities:

Routing Migration:

• Designing a new eBGP network in collaboration with infrastructure staff.
• Validating and building a scalable BGP network design, accommodating multiple vendors in a common IP space.
• Assisting in integrating multiple vendors into the edge network design and providing comprehensive documentation.
• Implementing and testing new edge network designs in a lab environment before production deployment.

Core Network Architecture:

• Collaborating with external consultants to devise and implement a new leaf and spine architecture for the core L3 network.
• Developing migration strategies and deployment plans for transitioning to the new architecture.
• Deploying and ensuring proper operation of new Juniper routers in the test lab before production deployment.

Documentation, Training, and Support:

• Documenting all deployments and challenges encountered, providing comprehensive training to infrastructure staff.
• Cross-training staff on the new network design and providing training on system security plan development.
• Providing assistance and training on monitoring application usage and tuning strategies.

Datacenter Design and Deployment:

• Collaborating to design and deploy a new core and datacenter switching infrastructure.
• Conducting stress and failure testing in a POC environment and integrating it with the production environment.
• Configuring Juniper Apstra appliances and providing training on their usage.
