    The Opportunity

    We are partnering with a high-end, health-forward grocery concept that is redefining the in-store food experience for New Yorkers. This thoughtfully curated brand is built around quality, simplicity, and community—and is seeking a Buyer, Refrigerated & Frozen to play a key role in shaping its perishable assortment.

    This is a hands-on opportunity for a buyer who enjoys being close to the product and the business: managing inventory, partnering with vendors, analyzing performance, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience in a fast-paced retail environment.

     

    What You’ll Do

    • Own buying and replenishment for refrigerated and frozen categories, in partnership with category leadership
    • Analyze sales, margin, inventory, turns, and shrink to drive accurate ordering and strong in-stock performance
    • Manage the product lifecycle, informed by customer demand, trends, and competitive dynamics
    • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, including pricing discussions and issue resolution
    • Partner closely with receiving, finance, and store leadership to resolve inventory discrepancies
    • Support category reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Ensure compliance with all food safety, health, and operational standards

     

    What We’re Looking For

    • Minimum 2+ years of retail grocery buying experience, ideally within perishable and/or frozen categories
    • Background in natural, organic, or health-forward grocery strongly preferred
    • Strong analytical skills with comfort using sales, margin, and inventory data
    • Experience working with Excel, ERP, POS, or inventory management systems
    • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, in-store retail environment
    • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

     

    Working Environment

    • On-site role requiring time on the sales floor and in cold storage environments
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
    • Schedule includes rotating shifts, weekends, and some holidays
