    Job Description

    The CATEGORY MANAGER, BEVERAGE, is responsible for assisting the Manager, Retail Wine in maintaining, building, analyzing, and improving Eataly North America’s Wine and Spirits program.

    Reports to the Corporate Manager, Retail Wine. This position is based in New York.

    • Works closely with the Corporate Manager, Retail Wine and the in-store teams to ensure buying, merchandising and sales processes operate efficiently and effectively

    • Maintain Trade agreement using our system D365 for the locations in the US and CANADA, providing support data and training

    • Builds and manages relationships with producers and vendors; coordinates timely and efficient product flow via vendor projections

    • Sets up new products and vendors; updates and maintains core product list and purchasing trackers

    • Conducts vendor billbacks and purchasing projections; keeps vendor lead time and delivery schedules accurate and updated

    • Liaises with Eataly’s national buying team to ensure a healthy supply chain for product distribution

    • Remains in constant communication with the in-store teams on approved vendor templates, product needs and objectives, and supply chain logistics; conducts routine audits and edits of buying templates across stores

    • Assists in managing supply chain and inventory control; ensures category databases and internal spreadsheets are up-to-date, organized and accurate

    • Leverages category knowledge to evaluate sales performance; monitors and analyzes purchasing, sales and margins per store

    • Analyzes category trends and competitive concerns, including competitor’s pricing, product mix and consumer habits

    • Provides significant operational support in the stores from a product standpoint.

    • Perform data cleansing and validation activities to ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity across systems.(e.g., D365, Adaco, Catapult, WMS).

    • Ensure up-to-date internal product catalogues are maintained and distributed to all relevant stakeholders regularly.

    • Ensure critical product data is available and reliable for reporting, analysis, and day-to-day operations.

    • Performs other duties as required or assigned

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Experience with Italian wine and spirits in a retail setting

    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)

    • Outstanding attention to detail and analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

    • Experience in a hospitality/food industry setting preferred bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Wine Retail, business administration, data management, or a related field.

    • Experience in data entry, product master data, or inventory systems; ERP experience preferred.

    • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify data inconsistencies.

    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

    • Excellent communication, motivation, and multi-tasking skills

    The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 annually.
