    The Opportunity:

    This position will be responsible for a greater than $70 million in spend in the Electronics components category globally and will take on more spend based on performance. Opportunity to deliver is very high, and this will be a good fit for a candidate who is self-driven and results-oriented.

    Responsibilities:

    • Implement sourcing strategies to support objectives in the area of electronic component categories, providing the entity with a competitive advantage in the areas of materials, supplies, and services.
    • Locate, analyze, and develop a consolidated supplier base to meet current and future commodity needs.
    • Direct the negotiation and management of contracts/agreements for assigned commodities with medium to high risk and medium too high complexity.
    • Provide guidance and overall direction to the purchasing/commodity team regarding contract management, agreements, policy development, art of negotiation and other supply chain activities in the spirit of providing mentoring and coaching to develop the team's knowledge, skills and abilities.
    • Develop risk management strategies and recommend short and long-term strategies with defined risk/benefit strategies.
    • Develop alternate sources to ensure a steady flow of goods, materials, and/or services.
    • Perform analyses of costs related to labor rates, charges, time, and cost of materials.
    • Monitor supplier capability and performance to ensure maintenance of delivery, quality and price commitments.
    • Maintain and promote sound relationships with extensive network of suppliers and business community.
    • Connect other team members with potential suppliers.
    • Support projects to ensure all procurement activities are performed as required.
    • Create and maintain mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement, including driving continuous improvements with the supplier base.
    • Develop cross-functional teams to understand division-wide needs and evaluate suppliers.
    • Understand, track, and forecast the key cost drivers and market factors for assigned commodities.
    • Compile market condition information regarding commodities and suppliers and suggest/implement business strategy changes.
    • Responsible for the development of materials policies and procedures.
    • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
    • Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
    • Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Chemistry/Biology or like degree
    • 8 years of progressively responsible experience in purchasing/commodity management, years working in a highly regulated environment, years working with purchasing/commodity mgt software
    • Strong experience in negotiating terms in purchasing agreements
    • In-depth experience in contract management
    • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
    • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
    • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects
    • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
    • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in a timely manner
    • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
    • Ability to travel approximately up to 20%, including internationally

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
