    Luigi’s Restaurant & Gourmet Express is looking for a Catering Prep Assistant to join our award-winning team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with fresh food, takes pride in organization and cleanliness, and can keep up in a fast-paced kitchen production environment.

    This role is focused primarily on food preparation for catering and gourmet prepared foods. The right candidate will help prepare deli case salads, bake cookies, prep and package hors d’oeuvres, and execute daily production based on catering worksheets and master prep schedules.

    We are looking for someone with strong prep skills, knife skills, speed, cleanliness, and attention to detail. Candidates who can also help on the counter, answer phones, and handle simple POS transactions will bring additional value to the role.

    Responsibilities

    Prepare deli case salads daily to Luigi’s standards

    Prep, assemble, and package catering hors d’oeuvres

    Bake cookies and assist with additional daily food production

    Read and follow catering worksheets and daily production sheets

    Complete prep accurately and on time for pickups, deliveries, and events

    Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation

    Assist with labeling, packaging, stocking, and kitchen organization

    Support the catering team in producing orders from start to finish

    Occasionally assist with simple counter service, phones, and takeout orders

    Qualifications

    Food prep experience required; catering prep experience preferred

    Strong knife skills and comfort in a scratch kitchen environment

    Ability to work cleanly, quickly, and efficiently

    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    Ability to follow prep sheets, recipes, and production timelines

    POS or computer experience is a plus

    Delivery experience is a plus

    Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are a plus

    Schedule & Pay

    30–35 hours per week

    Flexible daytime schedule

    $17.00–$22.00 per hour based on experience

    Higher pay potential for candidates with additional customer service, phone, counter, and POS abilities
