    Position Summary:

    The Cath Lab Technologist assists physicians during cardiac and peripheral catheterization procedures, electrophysiology studies, and interventional radiology procedures. The technologist operates specialized imaging equipment, monitors patient hemodynamics, and ensures the safe and effective operation of all Cath Lab procedures in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Prepare and maintain the Cath Lab suite and equipment for procedures.

    Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.

    Operate imaging equipment to capture accurate and high-quality images.

    Monitor patient’s vital signs and hemodynamic data throughout procedures.

    Scrub, circulate, and record as assigned during Cath Lab procedures.

    Administer and monitor contrast media under the supervision of a physician.

    Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection control standards.

    Document all procedures accurately in the electronic medical record.

    Ensure radiation safety measures are followed for patients and staff.

    Participate in emergency response situations as required.

    Perform equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

    Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.

    Support continuous quality improvement and participate in staff education and training.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or related program.

    Licenses/Certifications:

    Current ARRT (R) or RCIS certification required.

    Current BLS and ACLS certification through AHA required.

    California CRT and Fluoroscopy license (if applicable by state).

    Experience:

    Minimum of one (1) year recent experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab preferred.

    Experience with diagnostic and interventional procedures, including stent placement, PTCA, and EP studies, preferred.
