    SUMMARY: 

    The Job Developer (JD) works under the direction of the Employment Manager to assist clients in obtaining employment that meets the goals stated in the Client’s Self-Sufficiency Plan. The Job Developer, in coordination with Case Managers and English-as-a Second Language (ESL) Instructors, works to place refugees in jobs by conducting initial client assessment, providing clients with assistance to overcoming barriers to employability, coordinating job search activities, providing guidance with job interviews and applications, as well as conducting all necessary follow-up reports until the client has completed employment services. In addition, form and maintain partnerships with agencies or companies that will provide employment opportunities to MRS clients. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assess and evaluate refugee and other refugee-eligible populations for employment and/or job training.
    • Assist refugees with employment services such as: resume building, completion of applications, translations, transportation assistance, employment documents, uniform/work tool needs, career laddering, and training opportunities.
    • Case note all employment activities completed and maintain records in MRIS and clients’ files
    • Plan and implement clients’ self-sufficiency plan in coordination with clients, Case Managers and ESL Instructors.
    • Encourage and promote job upgrades and employment trainings.
    • Provide employment orientation focusing on the employment process and cultural sensitivity issues.
    • Work with local employers in placing clients in appropriate jobs.
    • Participate in job fairs and other employment events to develop new employment resources.
    • Conduct 14, 90 and 180-day follow-up reports with clients and/or employers to ensure job retention and income verification.
    • Transport and accompany clients to job interviews and/or job leads as necessary.
    • Participate in the delivery of services required to ensure employment retention until the client has successfully met the employment goal.
    • Network with ECDC employment team, employers, and other employment providers.
    • Complete all required documentation accurately, on time and using proper English.
    • Protect all confidential information, Agency property and electronic data.  Comply with safety rules.
    • Other related duties as directed.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Bilingual in both English, Arabic, Farsi and/or other language spoken by our refugees.
    • Ability to manage a high caseload and handle urgent matters well.
    • Ability to develop and maintain business relationships.
    • Ability to work within a team environment.
    • Must possess critical thinking skills and have the ability to prioritize multiple appointments throughout the work day and work week.
    • Detailed knowledge of diverse cultural backgrounds, particularly refugee populations.
    • Facilitation of employment orientations and job readiness workshops.
    • Proficiency in computers and software including Microsoft Office.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Associate Degree in Business or Social Services field plus three years’ experience in job placement in the Las Vegas job market and job placement. Bachelor Degree in Business or Social Services is preferred. 
    • Flexible schedule to work after hours and weekends, as necessary.
    • Must be at least 25 years old, a valid Driver’s License with current minimum Nevada state required auto insurance.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Primarily works in office environment, but will also work throughout the agency and off site.
    • Ability to communicate with clients, colleagues, employers and other business partners.
    • Ability to operate and use office equipment, especially computer, keyboard and mouse.
    • Ability to continuously sit and/or stand.  Ability to climb stairs as needed.
    • Ability to drive, including entering and exiting vehicle as required.
    • May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

    THIS POSITION PAYS $15.00 PER HOUR
