Our already bustling breakfast restaurant is no opening for dinner and we are looking to add a few more culinary professionals to our team. Nestled in the heart of Vancouver, we pride ourselves on using fresh ingredients to create memorable dining experiences for our patrons. Our scratch kitchen is where creativity meets tradition, and we're looking for passionate individuals to join us on our culinary journey.

    As a Prep Cook at Cecilia, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by preparing ingredients and supporting our culinary team in delivering exceptional dishes. From chopping and dicing to marinating and portioning, your attention to detail and dedication to quality will be instrumental in upholding our standards of excellence.

    Duties & Responsibilites:

    Complete opening and closing checklists.

    Refer to Daily Prep List and Checklists at the start of each shift for assigned duties.

    Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.

    Understands and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.

    Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.

    Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, walls, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.

    Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations.

    Assists others in closing the kitchen.

    Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.

    Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to Kitchen Manager.

    Inform Kitchen Manager immediately of product shortages.

    Uses our Standard Recipe Card for preparing all products.

    Do not rely on the memory of yourself or other employees. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager, Chef or manager-on-duty.

    Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

    1-2 years working in a kitchen

    Have working knowledge of the predominant language(s) of our guests.

    Be able to lift, reach, bend and stoop.

    Carry items up to 30 lbs., including bus tubs, trays with dishes and glassware.

    Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

    Must have current food handler card.

    Benefits:

    Closed for major holidays: 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
