Requirements:

• Must have Covid vaccination and provide documentation
• Masters in Social Services, Mental Health Counseling, and/or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• Bilingual in Spanish a HUGE Plus

Job Description:

• Provides culturally-competent short‐term counseling, crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning and psycho-education, including:
• Crisis Intervention
• Ability to identify need, as well as make referrals, for outpatient/inpatient care and hospital transport
• Trauma Triage/Trauma informed assessment
• Peer support

Conducting emergency evaluation/assessment for:

• Mental health
• Substance use/disorder
• Occupational needs
• Domestic Violence
• Advocates on behalf of the family when working with NYC's Administration for Children's Services or other preventative services.
• Makes referrals and appropriate linkages.
• Communicates and collaborates with service providers to enhance engagement and ensure quality.
• Providing education/training to other staff.
• Providing social service benefits and other resource information to residents.
• Facilitating family meetings (with the family + HERRC staff) to discuss planning efforts and progress
• Coordinating with emergency services/hospital social workers/discharges, especially around laboring moms & newborns
• Coordinating on domestic violence cases, particularly if a 911 call needs to be made, and providing additional support as needed
