    POSITION:  COMMUNITY Liaison Associate 

    DEPARTMENT:  Community Relations; Marketing   SUPERVISOR:      Associate Director of Community Engagement 

    FLSA: Part-time, 15-20 hours per week 

    SALARY/Hourly rate $30-35/hour 

    SUMMARY OF POSITION 

    This role will assist organizational efforts in increasing public awareness of Celebrity Series and its programming, specifically by developing an audience for Neighborhood Arts community concerts. Additionally, they will expand audience access to ticketed events by coordinating free and $10 tickets to mainstage performances. They will do so by cultivating and maintaining relationships both at the individual and institutional levels, and by working closely with community contacts and CS Marketing and Community Engagement teams. CS's Racial Equity Plan outlines our goal to serve audiences that reflect the diversity of the city of Boston, and this role will provide focused and sustained collaboration with, and commitment to, BIPOC colleagues, organizations, and communities.  

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    COmmunity Relations 

    Serve as a direct liaison to diverse community partners and leaders in order to attract multicultural audiences at outreach events and performances in Boston and Cambridge neighborhoods.            

    • Cultivate new partnerships and deepen existing relationships with community partners such as faith-based and tenant organizations, social service and health agencies, senior centers and local businesses 

    • Identify and develop connections with leaders within the BIPOC sector, including Asian American Pacific Islander, Black, Latina/o/x and Indigenous communities 

    • Facilitate intergenerational event planning and logistics with community partners and vendors 

    • Research existing programming, free/discounted ticketing access programs and venues at libraries, museums, community centers, etc. within diverse neighborhoods 

    • Attend non-CSB local neighborhood/community meetings and events to discover and learn about issues, concerns, and opportunities, and seek out potential CS contributions and connections 

    • Develop and nourish feedback systems so community insights are shared within CS, and encourage a culture of listening and responding to community feedback 

    • Collaborate actively with other Celebrity Series departments to ensure that community activities are fully integrated into the priorities of the organization and in line with the organization's Strategic Plan 

    • Represent the organization at Neighborhood Arts and other community events as needed, in coordination with Production and Box Office staff.

     

    AUDIENCE Development/Marketing 

    • Coordinate orders for the Take Your Seat student discount ticket program and Arts for All! comps

      

                   with the Box Office and Advancement departments 

    • With Marketing team, develop welcoming strategies and grassroots marketing initiatives to help attract and diversify audiences at both free and ticketed events 

    • With Marketing, create promotional plans to encourage advance signups for Neighborhood Arts events with the goal of collecting audience information and developing long-term relationships  

    • Support efforts to document outreach events via photos, videos, interviews, and audience feedback tools to support community storytelling across social and digital media platforms

     

    ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATION 

    • Facilitate proactive communication between staff of the venue, artist, and Celebrity Series implementing a targeted marketing plan 

    • Assist in program assessment through tracking metrics for systematic evaluation and improvement 

    • Support cross-departmental projects with community implications, including, but not limited to, input on communications (print, web, and email) and audience engagement initiatives 

    • Represent organizational mission, values and code of conduct and create a positive, respectful experience for all

      

    REQUIREMENTS 

    • 3+ years of experience with community organizing, audience development/marketing, program management and/or external affairs  

    • Established knowledge and connections within Boston (non-profits, academia, municipal, youth & families, social service organizations, arts & culture, parks & recreation, etc.)  

    • Previous success in cultivating lasting partnerships at the organizational level 

    • Demonstrated experience in working within communities of color with respect and sensitivity.   

    • Self-starter who thrives on creating and cultivating relationships on behalf of an organization.  

    • Able to work independently as well as part of a team 

    • Awareness of marketing and audience development tools and principles desired 

    • Periodic in-office presence during business hours, plus attendance at community meetings (occasional evenings) and most Neighborhood Arts concerts (approx. 15/year on weekends)
